Since the first day of Spring just passed, I thought it would be fitting to share a few Spring-inspired finds that I’m loving right now for my first entry into my Fri-yays!
Going forward, I hope to share whatever is inspiring me at the moment. I intend for this ‘corner’ of my blog to primarily be used to highlight non-quilty things, but I may use it to showcase ( or just give shout outs to) the other Quilters/Bloggers who have inspired me along my quilty journey. …stay tuned for that!
First, I want to share one of my most favorite lunch recipes. It’s my go-to when I want to mix up my sandwich game and still keep lots of flavor. And the surprising part – there is no meat! The star is a green goddess cream cheese spread by Foodie Crush.
If you haven’t visited her site before, you must. go. now! She seriously has the best recipes and it’s one of my most favorite foodie blogs. I can always trust that I’ll love any of her recipes.
For this sandwich, I make the cream cheese spread exactly the way it is in the recipe (although I use any store-bought cream cheese). However, I don’t particularly care for alfalfa sprouts or cucumber. I just layer my sandwich with grilled zucchini, heirloom or other seasonal tomatoes, spinach and avocado. I smash my avo on the top piece of bread to try to keep everything from sliding out!
I’ve also recently started putting micro greens on all the things because, why not? I find they aren’t as earthy tasting as alfalfa sprouts, and I hear they are the most nutrient-rich form of greens. I think these replace the alfalfa sprouts nicely in this sando.
How delicious does this look?!

I will warn you, this sandwich gets messy. But it’s SO worth it!
Added bonus – this is the perfect meal for Meatless Mondays. Or Lent season if you are not eating meat (which, for me, means I’m eating this a lot right now).
P..S.- this cream cheese spread could be used for other things too. it would make a fun veggie dip! And I’ve actually spread it on half of an avocado and then layered all the other veggies on top of it when I’m trying to do no bread. But there’s still the cream cheese…that’s the necessary evil in this delicious make! But again, worth it!
Since I’m on the topic of food…I thought I’d share the most adorable fabric line with the cutest avocados, watermelons, kiwis and citrus fruits that I ever did see!!! This line is called “Vintage Fruit” and is by Indy Bloom Design and can be purchased at Hawthorne Supply Co.
Just look at this romper made by Wally Ollie that Hawthorne Supply Co shared recently on Instagram. Those watermelons give me all the heart eyes…
…. and I seriously can’t get over these avocados! This print would be so cute on bibs, burp cloths and blankets. Or how about using the whole line for a whimsical baby quilt? My mind is exploding with all the cuteness this would make!
So that’s all the Fri-yay goodness for today! I’m going to go make a sandwich now….
Not full yet? Go to my blog to get another heaping of Fri-Yay goodness!
